Default vista incompatability

I am having trouble saving my word documents and saving or open anything in
power point. I have Office 2007,180 day Trial on windows vista home premium.
Every time i try to open a word or power point file using the office button
in the top left corner of the screen, the program stops responding. what can
i do? I us it for my collage class. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

Do Word and Powerpoint stop responding when you try to change the "Look
in" location to something other than My Documents? If yes, then in
Windows Vista click on Start | Computer | Tools | Disconnect Network
Drive, and disconnected any mapped drives that are not currently available.
