Default Using the new Office 2007 File Format or Stay with the old format

Hello,

We at a company of 500 people are going to upgrade to Office 2007 from
Office XP. All the files on the network stay in Office XP format untill the
special feutures of 2007 are used. Until that time new files would be saved
to the Office XP\2003 file format.

How is the rest of the world using the new file format? Question in that
could be: What to do with outgoing e-mail? What to do with my documents on
the general website of the company? As an ICT department you can't ask youre
customers to install the Compatibility Pack because WE are working with the
new Office 2007. The are a lot of company's wprking with the old versions of
Office.

So the question is: How do most people configure there install of Office
2007 File Format on a network. (You can set options containing standard file
format by GPO)

Just be safe and save in the 97-2003 formats unless you have an Excel
2007 file that uses more rows or columns than what the old Excel
workbooks had or some other feature in Office 2007 that aren't
compatable to earlier versions. Not every company has Office 2007 yet.
