I recently accessed the student deal of Microsoft 2007 Office Ultimate
through The Ultimate Steal. After paying for it, I attempted to download and
install the product. When the download was complete, I ran the .exe file and
only got the message "The installation of this package failed." I attempted
to download and install the product several times and continued to get that
message. I contacted The Ultimate Steal which directed me to contact
Microsoft. I emailed someone at Microsoft and got no help, only suggestions
as to other areas of the microsoft website to try...including the technical
support professional which I would have to pay for because I can't even get a
product ID number.
Does any one have any suggestions as to what to try?

If you haven't been able to install, you can use the product key given to you
in your email to send m$ support an email msg about your problem with
office ultimate 2007; do it in the office support area. Else use the toll free
number & call which was what I did prior to being informed tha the product key
can be substituted for the product id for email.
ms office support should be able to help you in doing another download.
You can also look at your temp folder for the "setupxxxxxx.log"; also look for
a "msinstall" log file for the real problem.
I also had the exact same problem, but the email support doesn't accept my
product key information as valid. I'll have to get on the phone with
toll-free support I suppose.

Hey can anyone help me I also had similar problem with illinimed!
I purchased the ultimate steal office 2007 just yesterday but I had
technical problem so I tried several times in downloading but it rejected me
to download again, I want to buy the back-up DVD back and people solve my
problem but what I got is the automatic reply from the ultimate steal
customer service!
I hope microsoft staff and company are more effective and professional and
help me back the problem by sending me a real email to hyam@rollins.edu or yam.sarah@gmail.com
Sincerely thanks,
Sarah

You aren't addressing Microsoft staff or company here and if you're
feeling upset now, just wait till the spam starts hitting both of your
e-mail addresses because you published them in a public newsgroup and
the spam bots have them.
