I am sure that many users have printed off a document to find an extra
unintended blank page printed off at the end of the document because of the
presence of extra paragraph characters after the end of the text.
In the interests of saving paper, it would really good if Office (Word etc),
if file/print is selected, is able to detect any pages at the end of a
document that have few or no characters and then prompt the user: "This
document appears to have extra page(s) at the end of the document with no
text, do you also to print this page or pages? Yes/No" - or words to that
effect.
Be interested in feedback or advice on getting it included with the feature
of next version of office

I realise that you can you print preview to check if there are excess pages.
But this is suggestion is for occasions where a person does manually check
page arrangement. Office has so many smart features and mine was a suggestion
for another one

Edit: I meant to say "But this is suggestion is for occasions where a person
does 'not' manually check the page arrangement.

what you might want to do is
to set the default printer to
pdf or mdi.
This would be helpful because you will
automatically print to a file that
you can view, inspect, save,
delete or forward to the printer.
Also, if there are extra pages
in your pdf file, you can
redo your document or send
only certain pages printed in the pdf
file to the printer.
basically, using the pdf will serve
as a safety buffer. SO if it doesn't
look exactly right, eg fonts, line spacing,
etc..., your printer and ink will be spared
the erroneous wurk...
another pointer is to keep
the printer powered off until
your ready to print from the print
spooler.

i think that if the preview
was automatically produced
at the time of printing, instead
of manually clicking on the
feature, it would be more user
friendly.
