Default Student Regional Licencing

Not sure where I should be asking this question but thought i'd try here. I'm
a student with the OU and just bought a Vista Ultimate upgrade, Office 2007
Pro Plus and Expression Studio from an online seller of student software. The
discs arrived today and all say "not for use or distribution outside of
Europe, The Middle East and Africa" on them. I'm emigrating shortly to NZ but
will remain a student with the OU - herin lies my question - will I be able
to use my software in NZ?

I have searched said student software website and nowhere on it anywhere
does it state that the software is regionally limited, but it does say the
licence is perpetual even after I am no longer a student. Anyone else come
across this problem? If I return the software unopened for a refund and buy
it elsewhere am I going to have the same licencing restrictions?

The problem is if I buy it in NZ as a student the OU is unlikely to be
recognised as a legitimate school as it is UK based, so I won't be able to
get NZ licenced software!

Any advice or help greatfully received.

Default RE: Student Regional Licencing

There should not be any problems with taking the software to New Zealand.
The software will continue to work on your machine. You were a UK-based
student when you purchased the software, so the "use or distribution" should
be acceptable. It would be different if you bought 20 packages of the
software, took them to New Zealand, and sold them to your classmates or
people on the street.

I'm not an expert on licensing, however. I am following up with the people
in charge of student software licensing for Europe to make sure that I am
right. I will post another message if they tell me something different.

Yes, the "Academic Licensing Specialist for Western Europe" says that it's
fine.
