I am facing a rather peculiar problem with Office 2000. Whenever I start
Outlook and try to open an email in a new window or compose a message, it
immediately starts a configuration process for Microsoft Project. A pop-up
window would come up and it would unsuccesfully start searching for the
installation files of Project on the network. If I cancel it, it reappears.
This happens for around 8-10 times before my email opens.
I am not sure what is it trying to configure in MS Project and how is that
getting triggerred when I am working in Outlook. I already have MS Project
installed and this problem does not arise with any other Office program.
Also, this problem happens only once when I start Outlook.
Any ideas on cause and cure?
Another thing I noticed just now. It also throws a pop-up for installing
Visio which is already installed in my system. I just have to cancel this
twice to resume my normal work. Again, this happens only once after I start
Outlook and doesn't happen subsequently.
