Default Slow Typing in Office 2007

I have a IBM/Lenovo with Office 2007 w/ Business Mgr installed.
My computer seems to work fine except with Outlook and Word.
When I type a word, it takes about 10 seconds for it to appear. When I type
a sentence, it can take up to 30 seconds for it to appear. Typing in IE as I
am now is no problem, just with Outlook and Word.

Does anyone else have this problem and/or a solution? Thanks

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...peningWord.htm . Although
the article was written for Office 2003 and earlier, the troubleshooting
steps also generally apply to Office 2007, except that the Word 2007
global template is called Normal.dotm and the Word 2007 data key is
\\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0 \Word\Data.

Thanks for the help. I don't have trouble opening either program, and they
never crash, but tried the steps anyways.

I deleted the Word and all Office registry keys, but it didn't fix the
problem.
I also deleted the Word and Office templates, but that didn't help either.

I changed the default printer from Fax to the Network printer and that
didn't change things either.

Anything I missed? This is bugging the heck out of me.
I also deleted Outlook 8.0 registry keys, and earlier today noticed that
Windows wanted me to install SP3 for Office 2003, but I have Office 2007 that
came with the computer . . . never had Office 2003 installed.

Thanks again.

Does the problem occur in safe mode? Did you check for addins?

I hadn't tried safe mode, should have thought of that, but did disable all
addins.

I tried uninstalling Business Contact Manager, but that didn't help, so I
said screw it and uninstalled Office. I note in add/remove programs that
there are a couple Office 2003 items, not sure why, so I'm going to uninstall
those as well and start over with a new installation. I'll let you know if
the problem still happens.

Thanks Garfield-n-Odie (my favorite comic strip since I was a kid, I'm from
Indiana and went to Ball State where Jim Davis lives) I can draw a mean
Garfield - the version from the 80's and have I think his 10 first books from
those scholastic book fairs at school, ha. Good memories.

If you also use Outlook then check Add/Remove Programs for an add-in called
Outlook Add-in (I think - it's a generic name). I had the same problem as
you describe on my computer and that rectified the issue, along with a
couple other minor bugs I was encountering.

If in Add/Remove Programs you see something like "Outlook Add-in" then yes,
this will correct your typing issue. If you've also encountered a bug in
Outlook in which it automatically creates repeating appointments then this
will correct it too. (I still have a reoccurring appointment to meet for
Margaritas for every Thursday due to this bug -- I still can't bring myself
to delete it. ;-) Too bad I can't get to Seattle every Thursday in order to
actually keep the appointment. <grin>)

I thought you might get a kick out of that. (Probably the only one here who
would think it was funny. <grin>)
