Hi
I have just rebuilt an users pc and run all updates including windows xp
service pack 3 and all office 2000 updates. My problem is desktop shortcuts
for ms access databases do not work. .mdb files are set to open with ms
access if you go into ms access you can open database correctly but when
create shortcut by sending to desktop they do not work. folder only shortcuts
and excel shortscuts work.
Any ideas?
Thank you
Tina

Can you tell us what happens exactly? Does Access start? Can you
double-click a .mdb file outside the application or does the same issue
occur? Is so, go to Start/Run and rin the following command:
msaccess /regserver
Note the space before the forward slash. This command will recreate the file
associations and Access shouldn't start. However you may see the Windows
Installer.
