Hi guys, I'm trying to scan in a form which will then be used as a Word
template onto which we can type information and either print out individually
completed forms or save the completed forms online. I'm using Windows XPHome,
MSO2003, MSO Doc Scan and MSO Doc Imag. I can get as far as getting the
scanned image on my monitor in OCR in a Word doc but cannot type in it, save
it to HD or print it out. What, or what, am I doing wrong?

You OCR it in MS ODI and then Save the text in it as a Word document.
Then you may edit it to your hearts content.

That's what I've been trying to do, but with no success. I OCR it in the ODI
and then save the text in a word doc and it gives me jibberish. So, then I
OCR it in the ODI and then save it maintaining the images and it gives me
jibberish with images.
I know I'm probably missing some simple step but it's driving me bananas.
All I want is the form on my computer so I can input data onto the form and
print it out. I think I'm doing everything the help files tell me to do, but
nada. Appreciate any help. TIA

It could be that the text is "scattered" all over the page in little
blocks here and there? If so, the Office OCR chokes on that kind of
recognition. You would need a better OCR engine/software like OmniPage
or the like.

Thanks, Bob. That's exactly what is happening. OK, I'll investigate and invest.
