Retrieving product code for Office 2001 for Mac

HELP! I've recently installed OS 10.4.11. I still have access to OS 9 but
am no longer able to access any of the Office 2001 for Mac Word documents
I've written for at least 7 years! When I try to open them, it prompts me for
the product code... which, of course, I cannot locate.

Is there a way to retrieve either the product code from something I have on
my computer (e.g. a document, file, etc.)? I have the original CD and called
Microsoft and gave them some kind of code she asked for off of the CD but
then was told they don't provide office support for Office 2001 any longer
and could not generate or even tell me how to retrieve the product code.

I found something in one of the Office 2001 help files saying you could
bypass reentering the product code (think it was for a network type of use)
by trashing the INVISIBLE "Office PID" (I think it was) in the Office folder
but I am unable to find that either. I would even go for anyone helping me
to find that "INVISIBLE" file?

You may want to ask in the Office.Mac group or perhaps on one of the
Apple forums about retrieving that info.
