Default Restoring Default Quick Styles Set

I have a student who accidently altered her default Quick Styles Set. For
example, she overwrote the Heading 2 Style. She wants to return it back to
the default, so does anyone have any suggestions on how she can complete
this?

You can return the Word new document template to default by renaming it. When you open Word again, it will create a new one.

Where do you find the Word new document template? I looked in the New dialog
box with the My Templates tab selected and I right-clicked the Blank Document
template, but there was no Rename option. I also tried deleting it, but
wasn't allowed to. I then tried renaming the Normal.dotm template in the
Trusted Templates folder, but I kept getting a message that I couldn't rename
or delete because it was in use by Microsoft Office Word.

Thanks for your help.

Close Word and locate it using Windows Explorer in the templates folder. Rename it from there to .old.

To reset the Quick Style set to the defaults set in the template, on the
Home tab, click Change Styles, point to Style Set, and then click "Reset to
Quick Styles from Template".
