registering product

I recently bought a new laptop and have been prompted to enter my prodcut ID
number every time I use Mircrosoft Word 2007. Is the version that was already
installed on my computer a trial version or s it permanent....and where can I
find the product ID number??

You should know whether it's a trial version. Did you pay extra for Office?
If not, chances are it's a trial version. Especially if the icons says
trial.

You would need to contact the computer manufacturer / seller, or look at
your itemized receipt, to identify if you purchased the full version of
Office 2007 or not. They should give you the product ID number if you
bought it from them.
