Default Product code validation

Previous Office 2003 Pro failed validation due to product key being Volume
license which was revolked when he left the company.
I purchased a new "full retail" copy on E-bay but all I got was a disc in a
jewel case and what looks like a copy of a key. The disc looks authentic but
I don't know about the key.
Is there a way to authenticate product keys prior to software installation?

Not unless you call Microsoft and ask them if it's valid.

Default Re: Product code validation

don't see what difference it
will make if you install it and
find that it is not a valid key.

i doubt that the "if seal is broken
then software can't be returned"
caveats will apply to pirated software.

and if it is pirated, then microsoft "wants
to know" who sold it to you. also
i think that have somekind of program
to help customers who were duped.

however if the key is valid then
you don't have to exercise any
options.
