I was working, and left my finger on the shift key to long. It started
some other mode, and I accidentally selected and deleted a huge amount
of long hard work. It asked me if I wanted to save and my knee jerk
response yes I better save. I had delted all that work. I reopend the
document and its gone. Is there any way I can recover it? There is not
autosave file (~ file). I'm desperate. Thanks for any help.
If automated backups weren't enabled (you would see a file named Backup
of...), and no other automatic backup software is being used then the work
you did is gone. The only other easily-accessible possibility I can think of
would be if the file had previously been saved and if you're using Vista
Ultimate (business, too, I think). If that's the case, right-click the file
in Windows Explorer, click the Previous Versions tab and see if a pre-slip
version of the file exists.
