Picture manager - photos greyed out

Hi

I have phtos that look fine as thumbnails however when I click on them to
view a portion of the picture is greyed out. Any ideas how I can rectify
this? Hopefully I can recover the photos.

R-click the file in Windows Explorer and select Open With and pick
Windows Picture and fax viewer to see what the picture looks like.
