opening DOC as an e-mail attachment

DEAR FRIENDS,
I can NOT open my e-mail attachment which is in the form of microsoft
word(DOC).After downloading ,the MEDIA CENTRE window/page appears.This
problem happened two days ago due to updating windows vista automatically by
my server!.I would like that the system offers me list of programs /options
..example:microsoft word,photogallery,real player,etc,etc just like
before.Hopefully some one can guide/ suggest me what to do so that i be able
to open my e-mail straight away as before.I thank every one in advance &
appreciate this kind of co-operation.Amador!
