Default Office Suite 2007 Programs Keeps Crashing

I have Office and using it with Vista Home Premium. When I open Word or
Publisher or Excel it opens with "Not Responding". f I then open the programs
in safe mode it's fine. However if I create and save a document and then
return to open it even in safe mode it hangs/freezes and then returns "Not
Responding" error. Does anyone know the fix to this.

Thanks

I used Office 2007 trial version for several weeks. I use Excel heavily.
Excel 2007 kept crashing intermittently. I also did not like the ridiculous
Ribbon.

My solution was to uninstall Office 2007 and revert to Office 2003. Voila!
The crashes have disappeared.

hth!

Thanks Gemini for your advice whcih I took before your reply since most
people were suggesting it.

However the same thing seem to happen when I used 2003 and later found out
that the problem was actually with the virus softawrae that I was using whcih
it seems Office was not connecting to. In future for people check the virus
program as being one of the possible problems.

Thanks

Goodness! A problem that was not Office 2007's fault? Imagine that.
:-)

Thanks for the update, Angelis, glad to hear you got it sorted.

Thanks for the update, Angelis. That's something to remember.

However, in my case, only Excel exhibited that behavior. Oh well!

I unistalled Norton Internet security that was pre-installed on my laptop and
now all my office programs work again. There must be something in Norton that
changed on it's own becasue it used to work with Norton?? Oh well now I just
use the free AVG and set it to manula and disabled it in starup so I have a
choice of when I can run it.
