Office not responding at home but working fine at school

My laptop has Windows Vista (32bit) and I have MS Office Professional 2007
which I peuchased from my University.

When I use Office (word, excel, and anything) at school, everything is fine.
But when I am at home, nothing works. Whenever I open a word file or an excel
file at home, it never opens the file and says "(Not Responding)" . The only
difference I can think of between working at school and working at home is
that I use wireless internet at school but I use cable internet at home. I
disconnected internet connection at home and tried to open word files and
excel files and surprisingly I can open them. I don't know why Office does
not work when I'm on internet connection through the cable. I would like to
know what to do to solve this problem.
Please help me sove this problem.

Take a look at your firewall settings to see if Office has permission.
