Office changed my default E-mail how do I change it back?
I tryed sending a Power point presintation directly out of Office 97 (im sure
it still is the same with 2000 and 2003.) I went to file and sent to mail
recipient and instead of my default e-mail, choose a Profile opens up and
then Microsoft mail. No offense but I like my Incredimail better the Outlook
or Hotmail. So I Xed out of it cause I realised I was not be able to get to
my E-mail that way. But now when I have my IE open and hit the mail button I
keep getting the same thing. Microsoft Mail will not let me change that. Now
how do I fix that. I don't have Outlook and now I can not send any E-mail at
all out of IE. And my default e-mail program tells me I do not have
administrative rights. It wount even let me change it when I log on as
Administrator. So in essence Office hijacked my E-mail HELP!!!! I already
unistalled Office 97 befor I realized what happend, but I still have the
original software so I can reinstall it, if thats the only way I can fix it.
So again HELP And yes I know Microsoft no longer supports 97 how convinient.
Re: Office changed my default E-mail how do I change it back?
Microsoft Office doesn't hijack your email. And you've proven this for
yourself because now that Office is "unistalled", it should have no
effect on your email. Internet Explorer is not a Microsoft Office
application. Incredimail is not a Microsoft Office application. I
would imagine that the Incredimail website provides instructions on how
to make it your default email application if you don't know how to do that.

Re: Office changed my default E-mail how do I change it back?
I tryed sending it out of the Office Bar and now everything comes up
Microsoft mail. I know how to normaly change it in the incredimail but it dos
not work it just wount let me. And since it dose not let me change it as
administrator makes me wonder if Microsoft still has something to do with it.
So what is microsoft exchange and what programm dose it belong to and how do
I disable it I'm using windows XP

Do you REALLY mean "Microsoft Mail" or is it something else?
> how do I fix that. I don't have Outlook
And AFAIK you can't have Microsoft Mail either.
what have you REALLY got?
Re: Office changed my default E-mail how do I change it back?
Thanks for the question I guess I should give more details.
Well when I try to send a new message out of the mail Icon (envalope) in IE.
the envelope is there and used to open a new message through Incredimail now
it gives me 5 options:
Read mail...
New Message...
Sned a link...
send a page...
and read news
When I click on New message my Incredimail should open but instead a window
opens that is called Choose Profile (same window opened in Powerpoint)
profile name: (my name already in there, since original I wrote it in there
in Powerpoint) with option: New...
Then I have buttons Ok, cancle, help, options
when I open Options I see set default profile and show logon screens for all
information services
WhenI check: see default profile and klick: ok a new window pops up thats
called Microsoft Mail
Boddy:
Postoffice:
Mailbox:
Password and Ok Offline and help
und underneath embossed verry large Microsoft
Dose that answer your question?
And just to be sure when I click on version information It tells me
Microsoft Windows Help 5.1.2600.2180 Copyright 1990-2000 Microsoft Corp. Help
for Microsoft mail. So Yes it is Microsoft Mail as default and I can't undo
it. HELP Hopefully you know more.

Re: Office changed my default E-mail how do I change it back?
I got Windows XP and I was using Office 97 which I deleted, but I'm still
using Microsoft Works 8.0, But I since managed to fix the problem myself by
setting it first to Outlook out of Works as default and then back to
incredimail. So thank you for your help.
