Default Office Assistant

I have a new HP computer running Windows Vista and MS Office 2000 Premium,
and I receive the message "There is not enough memory available to complete
this operation" whenever I attempt to chance the Office Assistant in MS Word
or MS Excel. What do I need to do in order to overcome this?
