Default Office 2007 Unavailable

I have Office 2007 Professional installed on my computer and I received an
email attachment with an "mdi" extension. I did some research and found that
I had to install Scanning, OCG and Indexing Services Filter in the Office
Tools section. After I followed the directions received from Microsoft my
entire Outlook was unavailable and all of the files within the Outlook folder
in the Add or Remove Programs screen were marked "Unavailable", when I tried
to reinstall or reopen nothing worked and I am without an email client at
this time.

I have tried to Restore my computer to an earlier time and it will not
complete the restore. The machine just shuts down. This has been going on
for two days and I don't know where else to look or what else to do.

Thanks for any help on this.
