Default Office 2007 start-up message

Running newly installed Office Home and Student 2007 with a Vista OS all
available updates for both. Whenever I start any program, Word, Power Point,
etc.
I always get a box that reads "Office application version does not match."
My options are to select the red X at the top right corner of the box to
close it or to select OK, either way the box closes and the program I have
started then works. If any one out there has some info you can share
regarding this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you both for the prompt responses, Yes to Peter's question...I very
carefully uninstalled all of the trial version before installing the program
from a disk. Although I have not yet resolved the problem, I am 99 percent
certain that Herb sent me to the right place. I have to run some errands
first but wanted to let you both know that I read the information at the
link sent to me by Herb and it describes my problem exactly so I am sure the
solution offered there will work for me as soon as I find the time to do it.
I will do a follow-up post to let you know after completing the fix to
verify what happened. Thanks again for the help.
