Office 2007 Spell Checker stop working except on reply email

[MS Office 2007]

Outlook & Word spell checker stopped working except when I send a reply
email. I have double checked the settings with no clew what is happening.
Any suggestions?

Note: WE have ZoneAlarm on our systems and about a week ago we went through
the "Blocked internet issue" but that has been resolved <or has it> Hmmmm....

We can access the internet but could this be related?

In Word 2007,

1. Check under
Office Button=>Word Options=>Add-ins
for 'Disable Application Add-ins'

2. Create a new blank document.

a. Type
=Lorem()
and press enter.

b. Use Ctrl+A to select the text you typed.

c. With the text selected, on the Ribbon, go to
Review=>Proofing=>Set Language
and select 'English(US)' and be sure that the two check boxes at the bottom of the Set Language dialog are unchecked.

Return to the document. If at this point you do not show any 'red squiggle' marks for spelling errors then
d. Press F7 to manually run a spell check.

If you still do not have the spell check working then

3. From
Start=>Run
type RegEdit (and press enter key)
and drill down to in this key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Proofing Tools\1.0\Override\en=US

If that key is there rename or delete it, then close RegEdit and restart Word and try the spelling tests again.
