Office 2007 SP1 breaks Microsoft Office Document Scanning
I have been using Microsoft Office Document Scanning for very long
time both previously under XP and now under Vista - without a single
problem.
I went ahead and applied Office 2007 Service Pack 1 few days ago and
since the moment the update was applied every time I scan a document
using Microsoft Office Document Scanning and automatic OCR is enabled
the application throws an error:

Mine seems to be working OK. I don't use it that often, I scanned one page
and it auto OCR just fine

Re: Office 2007 SP1 breaks Microsoft Office Document Scanning
I got the same problem after installing Office 2007 SP1 using two
different scanners. Scanning without sheet feeder or scanning only one
page with the sheet feeder is no problem. The problem comes after
sanning the second or third page. Resetting the printer is required.
WORKAROUND (copied from Microsoft pages):
To work around this problem, use another scanner application. For
example, you can use the scanner software that was included with the
scanner. If you are using Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista
Ultimate, you can use the "Windows Fax and Scan" tool.

Another workaround: turn off OCR in the preset options of Microsoft
Document Scanning. For me it worked. OCR can be done afterwards in
Microsoft Document Imaging.
