I made the mistake of dragging an image from a message in Outlook to a
folder in windows explorer. After 5 minutes I had a "scrap" file in
there. What is it? When I tried to do anything in the folder, the CPU
went to 100% for windows explorer. Anyone know what this is about?
Right clicking on this scrap file to learn anything was impossible
because the CPU was just maxed out and nothing would happen.
Is this related to Office 2007 and one of the new programs that I don't
want, need or understand (onenote, infopath, groove)? If anyone could
tell me how to uninstall these, that would be great. Add/remove
programs took me to some sort of option tree that was the opposite of
intuitive.
Unfortunately, since it's maxing out when you access the folder, that makes
it hard to delete the file -- which is what I would recommend. Maybe if you
close Outlook, you'll be able to get to the folder and delete the scrap
file?

And in the future, if this is an attachment, highlight the message (no need to open it) and select File->Save Attachments.

Doesn't work in outlook 2007. I tried that but the tree dead ended
after "save attachments". There are 1000 posts all over the net with
people trying to figure out how to save embedded images in 2007.

That and perhaps change the folder view to Details rather than Thumbnails or
Filmstrip so it's not trying to display the image in any way.
