office 2007: freezes, can't install, hangs, eats up ram
OS: Windows XP (SP2) Pentium 3
I downloaded the Office home/student trial edition from microsoft site.
Whenever I click to install, nothing happens. The installation will not
open, it freezes. My free ram slowly drops until it's almost at zero.
I have turned off firewall and virus program.
My computer meets the minium system requirements in ram and processor. I do
not know what the probelm seems to be.
Since the file is over 250 mb is it worth re-downloading again?
Thank you
Re: office 2007: freezes, can't install, hangs, eats up ram
Have you tried Office Diagnostics (Start, Programs, Microsoft Office,
Office Tools) already? If that doesn't help, try repairing the
installation via Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.

Re: office 2007: freezes, can't install, hangs, eats up ram
Hello Patrick,
Thanks for the suggestion, but I can't install the software.
The issues arise when I 'try to install'
I can't access it in the control panel because it's not installed,
the same applies for the start>programs> suggestion.
I will delete the trial and try to re-download it.
If I can't install it, I will move to some other product.
I really don't want to re-install it because it's over 200 mb and hassle.
I have a broadband connection but it's still a hassle.
Thanks for your response
