Default Office 2007 - Disconnecting from online services?

Hi,

Is there anyway one can disconnect Office 2007 from connecting to Microft's online service? Microsoft's idea of many connections to their online service obviously has a purpose, but I have 1 dozen, or so, users, but only one adsl (24 Mbps) line, as I can't get any more, and this line is constantly clogged up due to MS Office users getting online.

In the Help section, you can select whether you want to connect to their online service, but that is just in connection with Help. I'm looking for a more permanent way of disconnection.

By the way, is there a way of uninstalling/unloading/deleting the template selection where all the online choices are shown?

Thanks.
