Default office 2007 and access xp

I have vista computer, with a version of office 2007 that does not have
Access 2007.

I also own office XP, so I want to install only Access XP to my new Vista
computer.

Anyone ever try this before? I have read about problems with the entire
office XP package living with the entire 2007 package, but I don't want to do
that.

I am searching but not really finding anything about this configuration, so
I am asking the experts out there.....

TIA

Hi M.,

You can install a mixed Office version arrangement. These are the Microsoft general guidelines for doing so
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928091/en-us?FR=1
Keep in mind that when you do a custom installation of an Office product suite that a lot of the installation is the common files
shared by the apps (i.e. you're not installing 'just' Access).

You may want to also post in the MS Office Access discussion group using the link below for specific issues that may have been seen
with the combination you're planning on using.

You may want to also consider an upgrade edition of the MS Office Access 2007 product http://office.microsoft.com/access

Thanks Bob,
I did see that page, but it really deals with using the full office xp and
office 2007, I am just looking to use access xp only with office 2007,
and I will take your advice and post in the access group.

Thanks!
Glad to hear the an old Access will get along with office 2007.
I really don't want to uninstall the 2007 and reinstall it, but I see that I
may have to.
Seems like a lot of work just to use Access.

Hi M.,

As I mentioned in the previous message there is no such thing as installing *just* one app from an Office suite. The custom install
will install the core shared files from that version and that is what the article addresses

When you visit/get visited by the MS Update checker you will be asked to install the Office XP updates, not just Access 2002 ones.
