Default Office 2007

I am using Office 2007. Under "Advanced" options the "Show this number of
Recent Documents" is in-active.

How can I make it active, so I can set the number of documents to show in
Office 2007 applications (Excel, Word, etc.)

If you have Windows XP, and if in the Windows XP registry the value of
the NoRecentDocsHistory key in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer\
is set to binary 01 00 00 00, then change the value to binary 00 00 00 00.
