Office 2003 Install to VISTA Operating System (Error)
I cannot install Office 2003 standard, error message "program is too large to
fit in memory". Have not come across this in years! Any ideas why this occurs
(Vista only)?

Well, what I did years ago, I'd probably try again: clean out any temp
folders, defrag and run a scan disk on the system, check virtual memory
settings, reboot, then try the install again! Did you search the Microsoft
Knowledge Base?

Re: Office 2003 Install to VISTA Operating System (Error)
iHi - Thanks for the note.. Had a scan on MS but nothing matched under VISTA.
Have checked config & autoexec.nt files - they match the settings as
standardised under XP - so its not that. Will try your suggestion next - but
dont hold much hope. The PC is new out of the box, I have stripped out secure
settings and made sure the only user is admin. Options are diminishing
rapidly!!

Re: Office 2003 Install to VISTA Operating System (Error)
You might try things that match under other operating systems, as you can
often find resolutions that can be adapted for your situation. Post back
with your results--

Re: Office 2003 Install to VISTA Operating System (Error)
Well thanks to contributors who tried to assist - remember this solution for
the future!
The installation CD - while appearing to be OK - was in fact corrupt! Having
tried a second copy of the CD - installation worked fine!
Grrrr
