Office 2000 Stalls when opening

This is an ongoing problem that started when I tried to load IE 7 (a
completely different story) but after I uninstalled IE7 and returned to my
previous version, all of my Office 2000 apps, namely WORD and EXCEL, stall
and do not open. I uninstalled Office and reinstalled but the exact same
problem continues. BTW, I have Office 2000 Professional.

Any ideas???

Close all Office 2000 applications, and then run Detect and Repair on
your Office 2000 installation by clicking on Start | Control Panel | Add
or Remove Programs | Office 2000 | Repair Office | Repair errors in my
Office installation | Finish. You may be prompted to insert your Office
2000 CD during the repair process, so be sure to have it handy before
you start.
