Unhappy OE compression & power cut - HELP!

Hello to all

This is my first post so I'm really hoping that I've put this in the right place and that someone will be able to help me!

Last night I got a message about compressing the messages to free up disc space. It was going about it's business happily and there was a message saying that it was copying files (I think - although I don't know where from or where to).

A short way through the process we had a power cut and now all my messages have disappeared and I don't know where to find them! (So now I am left feeling like a modern day little bo beep). Some of them were in my inbox but there have been a few files as well that have been emptied. I've checked the deleted items and they weren't in there and I've also looked in the recycle bin and they weren't in there.

Is there anyone that can advise me how I can find these e-mail or have I lost them forever? I'd be most grateful for any advice!

Thank you for reading my post!

Kate

Try posting this in an Outlook Express news group - this is not one of them.
Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office and is what this group supports.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and has its own news groups.

You can also find some good Outlook Express information here:

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, Kate0507 asked:
