OCR not working in MODI

Out of nowhere, the OCR function in Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI)
suddenlt stopped working.

The error message is:

"unable to perform in this language. Please change your OCR language
settings to an available OCR language"

problem is, the language is set to default, which is english, and it still
doesn't work. I tried changing it to english and still no go.

I tried reinstalling Office 2003 and MODI and still no go. I tried
reinstalling just the language sets in Ofiice 2003 and still no go.

Any ideas?
