Im new to vista so how do i check the keyboard layout.

Did you check your keyboard's regional settings? I see a lot of people who
are surprised when shift+2 = @. That means the setting is wrong. I'm at work
but use Vista at home. I know it's still under the control panel. See if you
can find the keyboard stuff in there.
