The ONLY versions supported are Office 2003 and Office 2007. If you
run an older version it may or may not install, it may or may not have
problems and if you do have problems there is no support.

That doesn't mean an older version won't work, if you have an older
version I'd try it and see before spending money for a new version but
don't expect much.

Well they all can, its just that various components have problems, usually
OL, but not neccessarily limited to OL only
Office2003 and above is fully compatible

Save your money, Office 2007 is a bad joke that is not ready for prime time,
especially the grammar and spell check functions But, a word of caution:
Microsoft has disabled Office 97 so that it will no longer function properly.

Microsoft disabled nothing. Using a 10 year old program and expecting everything to work on a brand new OS is folly.

Don't git cher dander up but I was running Office 97 on Windows XP with no
problems (for years). Then after I went to the Microsoft Update site and
downloaded the updates for my computer, the Office 97 stopped responding. I
checked System Information and they had stuck Office 2007 notations on my
system info files. So don't answer a question or a post unless you know what
you are talking about. And on this, you are way off base and rude to boot;
no pun intended.

Whatever, using a program released in 1996 on a system released in 2001 is one thing, However using it on a system released in 2007 is another. As for getting my dander up, you are not worth the trouble.

Thanks to all who responded.... Am trying to find a version of Office that
will run on both Win98SE and Vista... Maybe I'll give Office 2000 or 2002
(XP) a try.
Aloha,
Mike

Whatever? A juvenile response when a child has no answer that makes sense.
Go play in your sandbox, little girl. LOL LOL LOL
