I installed the Office programs on my computer. I have 3 computers that I use
and thought that I would be able to install this on all three computers, but
when I tried it for the third one which is the one I use mainly, it wouldn't
register it for online use. If I uninstall the Office programs on one of my
other computers will I then be able to register it on the computer that I
mainly use?

Yes. It's only the Student and Home edition that allows three installations
on the one licence...
Depends exactly which version of Office as to how many PC's it can be
installed on.
If your version only allows for 2 PC's then uninstalling on one would allow
you to install on the other.
But in both cases you may have to use phone activation.
Read the EULA as to *exactly* how many PC's you can install it on
