Default Microsoft Office 2007 Free Trial and Outlook

I downloaded the Microsoft Office 2007 Free Trial, which is supposed to
include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, but I when I finished the
install, there was no Outlook; why not?

Because you did not do any research in the news groups where it has been posted hundreds of times - you need to uninstall any prior version of Outlook to install the trial Outlook.

I didn't have any prior version of Outlook, that's one of the reasons that I
wanted the trial version so that I could try it out and see if I liked it
enough to buy it.

Hi Pookie,

Check in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel to see what edition of Microsoft Office 2007 you downloaded. If it's the
Home & Student Edition, that one has OneNote rather than Outlook in it, but you could download Outlook trial or a different Edition
of Office 2007 trial separately.

If it's another edition of Office 2007 (other than Home & Student Edtion) and if you have had a prior Office edition on there then
even if you didn't use Outlook from that edition it may be installed. If there is another MS Office edition, (2000, XP/2002 or
2003) listed in Add/Remove Programs then you can use that choice to set the older Outlook edition to 'Not available' setting to be
able to then change the configuration of Office 2007 to run Outlook 2007 for you.

Okay, I did that, and I have the Office Standard 2007, so it should have
(and install) Outlook.

I went into Add/Remove Programs, and Outlook was already set to Not
Available. Earlier when I'd tried to go in there and add Outlook, I got an
error message telling me that I needed to insert a CD to install Outlook.
That was one of the reasons I came to this site, I wanted to purchase
Outlook; when I saw the trial of the whole Office suite though, since I'd
been wanting to try 2007 anyway I decided to go for that. It's just not
working though. I even went back and downloaded the Office Pro version, and
specified that any earlier version of Outlook was to be removed so that the
trial version would download, but no luck, it's still not there. Any other
suggestions?

I really appreciate your efforts to help, this is my first time dealing with
the Microsoft Office Online site so if I sound like a goof please forgive me!
lol
