link a table cell to another table cell in Word

I want the entry in one table cell to automatically appear in another table
cell

...in excel I'd just type in my destination cell something like: '= a1,
c5'.

....but how can I do it in Word?

As long as the source cell is a number, you can insert a "Formula" field
and set the formula to be =A1 or what ever cell you want, IT only works
with numbers from the source cell. See Word Help relating to "formula".

thats the rub....I want to do it with text...how?

You may have to use a different method, like a mail merge. Plug the
"word" into a "data source" and then point "both locations" to the source.
