Launguage Bar Handwriting problem

Hello,

Am running a gateway tablete pc with windows xp pro along with office 2003
pro. I have office installed with everything to run from my computer. when I
insert handwriting into word 2003 the just disappears. I have searched for
an answer and I did what it said see the following. When I try to activate
handwriting check box it will not let me select it under text services and
input languages/add input language. I have manually reinstalled using the
custom installation option the handwriting under shared features and it still
will not work. under text services I have the following:

Advanced Text Services
Tablet PC Connection
Tablet PC Connection for Windows Journal
Tablet PC Text Insertion

Keyboard
US

Speech Recognition


I can insert handwriting into sticky notes and journal

but when I try to insert it into Word 2003 it just vanishes

any help would be appreciated TIA!!!!
