Default "Installing Components" error message

I'm running Office (Word 2002, Excel 2002) on an XP-Professional machine
(service pack 1). I recently had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall all
my software. Since that time, every time I start Work or Excel, I get a box
that opens that says it's "Installing Components" and a moving bar indicates
that something is being installed. After ten or fifteen seconds, Word or
Excel starts normally and works correctly. By the way, this does NOT happen
when I launch PowerPoint or any other software on the PC.

Any ideas about what is happening and why? What can I do about it? Thanks!
