Default Initializing Folders on every save

Every time i go to do a save new file, or a save as (thus creating a new
file) word 07 goes into the most annoying routine of "intializing folders"
and takes forever examining first my docs folder, then for every drive I
change to when looking to the right folder i want to save to it goes thru
this examining routine, so it takes me five minutes to save any given new
file over my network.

this also happens when i try to open/search for a file - its a real pain and
so slow!

If you show any disconnected mapped drives, this will cause the slowdown. Either re-map all of your network drives first or disconnect them.

I don't have any network drives mapped and I'm experiencing the same problem.
Anyone else out there have a suggestion?

Oops...I think I got it. I right-clicked on My Computer and disconnected two
Network drives that were mapped. All's well now.

Thanks,
