Default I need helping backing up contacts, mail and calendar from Office

I am upgrading from Office 2003 to Office 2007. Hooray!
The problem is, it is not an upgrade version, it is a completely new
version. So before I install 2007, I need to uninstall 2003, right?

My problem is, Office 2007 will be here 5/12/08. I need to backup my
contacts, mail, and calendar, so that I can import it back into 2007. The
problem is that there are so many options of ways to export it and import it,
I have no idea which one to choose. I don't want to choose the wrong one.
It would be a disaster if I lost the calendar and my emails. Is there
another way? How can I back the stuff up?

Thank you for your help!
Tyler

1) You dont Export/Import your OL data in order to back it up or reconnect.
2) With OL closed you simply copy the data files, or use the free MS OL
backup add in avilable on their site. And in any case you should be backing
up data anyway, to prevent the disaster which is bound to occur at some
point.
3) Installing Office 2007 will give you the option to upgrade your Office
2003 and all data will remain in place, including your OL data

The received wisdom on the Outlook groups is that if an in-place upgrade is
performed from 2003 to 2007, then a new Mail profile needs to be created
after the install.

Uninstall 2003. (That will NOT affect any data). Install 2007. And it should
automatically pick up your existing data, but you may have to re-create your
email account, I can't remember.
