Default Hyphens + Hard return = Line (Now how do I get rid of it?)

I have a large document in which I created several lines by consecutively
entering a number of hyphens and then pressing hard return. VOILA I have a
line that spans the columns I'm working with.

Now how do I get rid of that line? I can move it around by hitting enter
when my cursor is above it, but hitting delete only serves to delete text (or
hard returns) below it. Hitting backspace when I am directly below it only
serves to delete text (or hard returns) above the line. I can't select or
highlight it either. It seems to be invisible.

Ocasionally hitting delete above the line will erase the line but this
really is hit or miss. I have a whole bunch of these lines in my document and
they will not go away. What am I to do?

B.

The lines are paragraph borders. See
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Format...tRidOfLine.htm .
