Default How to get SpellChecker to work automatically in Outlook Express?

I have a brand new PC and I bought and installed Office 2007 on it.

I actually have TWO issues.

1 - Spell Checker doesn't automatically check spelling when I send email
using Outlook Express, I have to click it to get it to start.

That brings me to my second issue with the program--

2 - Then Spell Checker tries to change the spelling to FRENCH even though I
have everything set in the Preferences to English.

Can someone tell me how to fix these issues, Please?

I didn't lose my mind, I sold it on eBay!

In OE do Tools-Options-Spelling

Two ways to fix only - install the English proofing tools from Office 2003
if you have it, or download a third-party spellcheck for OE. (Google will
show you a few....)
