Default How do you set up default page formatting?

I would like to set default formatting that will affect every new document I
open; that is, I want to set a font, font size, justification, etc, etc, that
will just appear automatically on every new page I open. Right now, it's set
on Times New Roman, 12, left justification, etc. and I would like to change
that.

You find and open Normal.dot which is the template file. Make the
changes there and then save it to the same location. I suggest you keep a
copy of the original Normal.dot, however if you do screw it up, and you want
to go back to the original, you can delete the standard one and it will be
replaced if you have not messed up the backup copy. Sorry, but right now I
can't remember the locations of those files.

The primary reason you want to keep a backup of your Normal template is for
any customizations you have made, such as default settings, macros, styles,
AutoText, etc. If you haven't customized your Normal template then there's
no need to make a copy of it. If Word needs to create a new Normal template
it will create one using internal settings. :-)
