How do I remove some of my Recent Documents list?

In Microsoft Office 2007, there is a Recent Documents list when you press the
Office Button on the left, top corner of the screen. I have a whole list of
Recent documents, which does annoy me alot.

Can anyone tell me how to clear the Recent Documents list or something?

Office Button, Word Options (look on the bottom of the dialog), Advanced,
scroll down Display and *Show this number of recent documents*.

I see you have your question answered, I'm curious about the annoyance
factor. Most LOVE the fact you can display up to 50 recently used documents
along with the ability to "pin" those documents you use the most so they
aren't removed from the list - similar to a Favorites menu. To get a better
understand for how it could possibly be improved, could you tell us why it
annoys you?
