Default How do I install a language pack?

I have a laptop with Vista. I recently converted the Office 2007 trial
(English) to the non-commercial version.

I need Hungarian proofing tools so downloaded the Hungarian language pack.
Was surprised that it is 280 megs (or more!). Paid for it, downloaded it. And
when I click to install

a) I get a message saying the publisher isn't recognised (perhaps not
significant)

b) The installation fails with an error message in Hungarian, saying
"installation failed."

Are we doing something wrong?

Default RE: How do I install a language pack?

Just to add to my post:

I tried again and I do find it bizarre in the extreme that when I try to
install a Microsoft product, purchased and downloaded from the Microsoft site
(Hungarian language pack), the Microsoft operating system (Vista) does not
recognise the publisher! I tested by seeing how it reacts to the office
installation download previously purchased and this is recognised as
Microsoft.

Why is it that Microsoft are selling non-Microsoft software on its website?
And is this why it isn't working?

Default Re: How do I install a language pack?

When I installed the German Language Pack purchased from the Office web site
I had to enter a "Product Key" that I obtained when I purchased it. This
worked the first time. Later when I reinstalled it to the same computer I
received an error message, "Aktivierung Fehlgeschlagen - unknown error" and
a "request code". I had to e-mail the request code to Microsoft Office US
in order to receive an "Unlock Code", which I then used for "Manuelle
Aktivierung" of the product. There is an e-mail address for Customer
Support on the Office web site you can use for this purpose. If there is a
45 digit long request code in the box that reports installation failure, you
are to e-mail this to them.

The "publisher" and also the "vendor of record" of the German Language Pack
is Digital River, but they had no record of my transaction when I e-mailed
them about the installation error. Apparently their function is to
implement the credit card transaction.

The German Language Pack is 331 Megs.

Hope this helps,

Earle
