I did the MS videos last year, learning series, that earned me a license key
to MS office 2007 and it worked on my old computer. Before I donated that
pc, I wiped the hard drive. My new laptop is telling me my key is invalid.
I don't know how to ask for a new one -- contacting someone directly seems to
demand I pay them $49...
What videos are you talking about? Who is telling you it'll cost you money?

Thanks for engaging so quickly. MS had a whole series of videos that demo'd
MS office 2007 and some of the various programming tools around it, and if
you downloaded and watched them, you qualified for a key. So I watched them
and got a key that used to work.
The money I'm referencing is what the website is telling me it'll take to
talk to someone from MS official support -- since I have a key problem, I'm
assuming it'll take an official person to help me sort this out? That'd be
great if we could figure it out in this forum, however...

Did your new laptop come with a free trial version of Office 2007? If
yes, then you should have uninstalled the free trial version before you
installed your promotional version.

I will give that a shot, thanks! (It did and I didn't -- I just thought the
key would work.)
