Default How do I fix corrupted installation database

I run diagnostics and get "corrupted installation database". I cannot remove
"Office 2007" or "Office Outlook 2007" because I get the same error message.
How can I fix/repair this problem. The programs work, but I cannot install
any updates, etc. as I continue to get the same error message.
