Default How to delete the list of "recent documents" when closing Word '07

I am using Vista OS with Office Home and Student 2007; when I close WORD a
list of "Recent Documents" appears to the right with little pushpins next to
them and I want to be able to DELETE them so they do not appear when I close
Word--HOW DO I DO THIS?!!Very frustrating!

Thanks,
Sarah
